Khatuchi Khasandi is the Director of Invention Education (IvE) Partnerships, at Rice University’s Rice 360 Institute for Global Health Technologies. In this role, she leads Rice360’s visioning, planning and coordination of IvE projects and collaborations to sustainably advance innovation and entrepreneurship in addressing healthcare challenges in low-resource settings.
Prior to this, Khatuchi served as the Head of the East Africa Chapter of the Aspen Institute’s Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE). At ANDE, she led the team in in building innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems in East Africa and Ethiopia. She also led the development of initiatives aimed at facilitating linkages amongst academia, government and the private sector such as the Uganda Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Initiative.
Khatuchi has a certificate from the Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, a bachelors of arts degree in social sciences from Kenyatta University, Kenya and is currently completing her masters of arts in social sciences at the same institution. Khatuchi serves in the advisory committees of StartHub Africa, Yok Consulting and B Lab.
